Lancers to host 7-on-7.

The Loyalsock Lancer football team would like to invite all teams to participate in a 7v7 opportunity at Kenneth M. Robbins Stadium on Thursday, June 20 from 1-6 p.m.
This will not be a tournament style opportunity. This will rather be a series of individual passing opportunities vs. other teams. The cost of participation will be $50 per team. The price will allow us to provide an athletic trainer on site as well as support for setup and rental. We can support 9 teams in addition to our own team.
The format will be 30-minute slots for scheduled competition with the possibility for 5 competitions throughout. This will provide each team looks at a wide variety of passing games and coverage concepts.

8th ANNUAL LOYALSOCK 7-ON-7 PASSING COMPETITION RULES
- Field Dimensions:
- Field Length - 40 yards long
- End Zone - 10 yards deep
- Starting the game:
- Coaches are expected to monitor time and start their competition.
- First possession will be determined by Rock/Paper/Scissors by captains or coaches agreement.
- Moving the ball:
- Offensive Plays Must All Be Passes!
- The field is marked at 20-yard intervals with cones. (2 first downs without a penalty would result in a touchdown)
- Possession always begins at the 40-yard line. Hash mark placement of the ball must be enforced by coaches, once the ball has been advanced.
- Offenses always move in the same direction.
- The offense must gain at least 20 yards for a 1st down. First downs are awarded at the 20-yard line. (There is no kicking).
- Interceptions may be returned ("no blocking" rule applies). If an interception is returned beyond the 40-yard line (the offensive origination point) it is a touchdown and point after attempt should ensue.
- Special Rules:
- No blocking.
- Receiver/Ball carrier is legally down when touched with a hand.
- Fumbles are dead balls at the spot with the last team retaining possession. A muffed snap is not a fumble/dead ball. The 4.0-second count remains in effect on snaps.
- The QB is allowed 4.0 seconds to throw the ball. The offensive coach should start a stopwatch on the snap of the ball from center and stops the watch as soon as the QB releases the ball.
- If the release is under 4.0 seconds, the play goes stands.
- If the Offensive Coach sees that the clock has exceeded 4.0 seconds and the QB is still holding the ball, the Offensive Coach calls out "Sack." If the ball is released after the 4 seconds elapse, but the ball was thrown, the play result is still a sack. A sack result is identical to an incomplete pass.
- Defensive Pass Interference will be a spot foul (1st down at the spot). Called by the Defensive Coach.
- Responsibility to avoid contact is with the defense.
- Offensive team is responsible for retrieving and returning the ball to the previous spot or the new scrimmage spot in a timely fashion.
- No taunting or "trash talking". If a team fight occurs, the teams involved will be ejected from the tournament.
- 6 points for TD
- Always go for 2
- The score is not officially kept
- 30-minute games (continuous clock).
